Yes, change cat to echo.

INPUT=$1

for i in `cat $INPUT`; do
echo "ls -1 ${i}"
RES=`ls -1 ${i}`
done
exit 0;


input.txt

/files_???/19980527/???/



but when i run the command ls /files_???/19980527/???/ the files are
found...

any suggestions?
