Does FreeBSD support ATA DVD writers the same way that it supports CD writers? I have been to SOS's web page, and have looked at hardware support info, but have found no hint at whether ATA DVD writers are supported under FreeBSD.
Yes-- consider using "device atapicam" + the sysutils/dvd+rw-tools port.
