Well, that wouldn't mean the OP does not understand ISOs or DVDs or something. The DVD is just media. The ISO can be burned to a CD or a DVD. FreeBSD only puts out the ISO-s that are available free on the main or one of the mirror sites. There are some companies that pick up the ISO images and make a distribution. That is permitted under the FreeBSD license. Usually they sell it for a bit over cost and include a printed version of the Handbook. Most of them contribute a portion of their receipts back to the FreeBSD foundation to help in development.
