Hi,

Thanks for you input. I have made some progress. I had to set hw.pci.allow_unsupported_io_range=1 during boot and then added it to /boot/loader. I learned this from:

http://gerda.univie.ac.at/freebsd-laptops

I have not had any problems with ACPI yet but I will keep your suggestions in mind. My next task will be power management, sound and cdrom.

Thanks again for you comments.
Arend

Have you tried disabling ACPI support at the boot loader menu? My T40 locks
up at a different location during the boot if ACPI is enabled.

Subject: FreeBSD 5.2.1 on IBM T30

Hi,

I have just tried to install a fresh distribution of FreeBSD 5.2.1 on a IBM T30. The system locks up with just after:

pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0
cbb0: [MPSAFE]

I have been using this same laptop with FreeBSD 4.9 and 4.10 without any problems.

Does anybody have FreeBSD 5.2.1 running on a IBM T30 ?

Thanks in advance,
Arend
