For the Address Book you can use ldap, it work's well with outlook, except for the updates ;-), I use Horde+Turba for that. ( If you want I can send to you my ldif schema ) Tutos work very well as a calendar and scheduller, can send remainders and the kind of stuff that managers love, but if you only need a simple calendar, with less features, try Horde+Kronolith. I hope it helps. Saludos Fer. ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi, Fernando Gleiser wrote: I need to replace an Exchange 2000 server. It's not a 100% exchange replacement. Although not yet commited you can see my port via FreeBSD PR 54860 (based on linux compat mode, as a sneak preview), but the source port should be ready soon. It doesn't have to be an exact replacement, web-based solutions are also welcomed. OpenGroupware.org is fully web-based. Thanks in advance. Hi Fernando, Its not free however if you don't mind spending a bit of money you might want to consider Desknow. While it is browser based, it provides message boards, calendars, Instant Messaging, Web Mail, Spam Filtering, document and folder sharing (public, private and web based) and more. There's a good solid built in help system and it even does virtual domains. Additionally it can be accessed via Palm devices and PDAs. We've been running it here for about 6 months now and we haven't had as much as a lick of a problem. http://www.desknow.com/ And no, we're not associated with the outfit behind it in any way. We're just bought a license, installed it, and have been happy ever since. RE: Replacing an exchange 2000 server?
For a commercial solution you can look at: http://www.bynari.net or http://www.billworkgroup.org/billworkgroup/home Both claim to be suitable exchange replacements running under Linux. I expect they can be made to run under FreeBSD easily enough (though I have not tried to do so with either). Some reference info for you. Hope they help. Link 1 is an Exchange Server replacement.
