telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/libexec/telnetd telnetd -a none -p /path/to/my-auth-program
and I have hup'd inetd. However, when I try to telnet to this machine, I still go through the standard telnet prompting for username and password. I get the same result with "-a valid" and "-a user".
What else do I need to modify to get my program to be used instead of the default login?
