Thanks for responding Jason.

Yes, I used the script from gnome.
This is the 3rd box I have upgraded and the 
first problem of this nature.

that's the message I received after running the upgrade script. :)

Before the upgrade all was working well. After the upgrade 
I have some problems. I cannot startx from a regular user login.
