My xorg.conf is auto-generated. Hald is running.
In xorg.conf I see Driver kbd.

I bought two cheap sata to usb adapters (one with enclosure and one
without, one of them is self powerd, so that's not the problem), and
both give me the messages below. Tried with 8.2 and 9.1 to which I'm
