Re: usb/174575: Interrupt storm error on startup

2012-12-20 Thread Hans Petter Selasky
Hi,

There are some patches in the queue for the XHCI which are not in 9-stable,
which might address this problem. If possible try to boot a 10-current live
image as of today and see if there is any difference.

FreeBSD pcbsd-5925 9.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE #2: Tue Nov 27 03:45:16 UTC
2012 root@darkstar:/usr/obj/pcbsd-build90/fbsd-source/9.1/sys/GENERIC  amd64
>Description:
On startup, sometimes it gets stuck, with lines of text saying "interrupt storm
error". (The actual wording is: "interrupt storm detected on "irq17:";
throttling interrupt source".)

It appears to be caused by the USB mouse. I know that the USB mouse works
properly and there are no hardware faults of any kind.
>How-To-Repeat:
Use a USB mouse and sometimes (not always) the bootup will freeze and only
output lines of the error message.
