島根大学の阪本です。ダイジェストで読んでいたのですが、メールを受け付け
てくれないようで、あらためてsubscribeしなおしました。

NECのVersaPro J(VJ14M/EX-W)というノートパソコンに、FreeBSD Release6.0
をインストールしました。コンソールモードでは問題なさそうなのですが、X
を起動すると、本体のポインティングデバイスを認識してくれません。マウス
カーソーは表示されますが、全く動かず、また、ボタンも効かないようです。
dmesgを見てみると、psmを認識していないようです。/dev にもpsm0はできて
いません。「OSM」誌2005年12月号のKNOPPIX4.0.2を起動すると問題無く、Xが
使える様です。

家の少し古い型番のパソコン(同じVersaPro)でusb接続の光学マウスをつない
だのをFreeSBIEを使って起動するとマウスが認識されましたが、本体内蔵のポ
インティングデバイスは同様に認識されませんでした。試していませんが、多
分このパソコンでも、USBマウスなら使えそうです。

なんとか、USBマウスをつけずに本体のポインティングデバイスを使いたいの
ですが、同様の事例で、解決策を見つけられた方はおられないでしょうか。あ
るいは、何かのヒントがいただければ喜びます。ちょっと長いですがKNOPPIX、
FreeSBIE、FreeBSD6.0のdmesgを添付します。
