となっているので、1024x768 ドットの表示モードに、リフレッシュレートが
70Hz のものと 60Hz のものがあります。

こういう場合はリフレッシュレートの高いほうを使用すると思うので、前述の
HorizSync (kHz) の上限値を 70.0 から 50.0 に下げて、70Hz のものを使わ
せない (60Hz のものを使わせる) ようにしてみてはどうでしょうか。


HorizSync を 50.0 に下げて、確認しました.

HorizSync 30.0 - 50.0
VertRefresh 50 - 70.0

intel時には、正常に表示されなかったり、Fatal server error になるのはどうしてなのでしょうか?

vesa ドライバ:

vesa ドライバ時には、取りあえず、800x600 で使える様にはなりました。
ただし、1024x768 で画面一杯に表示されません。

vesa で 1024x768 で表示させる様に出来るのでしょうか? log には、1024x768 Mode番号のようなログがありました。
なんか行けそうな気がするのすが...

いずれの場合にも、ターミナルは出ていないです。
かなり昔の記憶では、そのターミナル上で、twm& と打てば、twm が起動したように思いますが
認識があっていますでしょうか?

xinit すれば画面左上に xterm が出ませんかね。あるいは startx すれば
(デフォルト設定の) twm が起動すると思います。


xinit あるいは startx の代わりに、Xorg と打つように変わったのかと勘違いしていました。
