Re: WPA_SUPPLICANT, auth timeouts
hi! It could be a crappy signal strength and/or we're using the antennas wrong. The driver is still in development. Unfortunately I don't yet trust the signal level report from the firmware, so I can't even ask for that. :( I'll see what I can do. -a On 4 June 2016 at 19:37, Larry Rosenman wrote: > When I'm sitting in my living room, the IWM (7160) card seems(!) to have > issues connecting. > > As soon as I walk into the room with the AP, it connects right up and will > then stay connected. > > Ideas? > > > > Jun 4 20:01:17 pita pkg: wpa_supplicant reinstalled: 2.5_2 -> 2.5_2 > Jun 4 20:26:26 pita wpa_supplicant[367]: wlan0: WPA: Group rekeying > completed with bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc [GTK=CCMP] > Jun 4 20:33:13 pita kernel: iwm0: mem > 0xdf20-0xdf201fff irq 17 at device 0.0 on pci5 > Jun 4 20:33:13 pita kernel: iwm0: revision: 0x140, firmware 25.228 (API ver. > 9) > Jun 4 20:33:13 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:34:24 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=bc:ee:7b:6f:41:b8 reason=0 > Jun 4 20:34:24 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=20, val=0, > arg_len=7]: Can't assign requested address > Jun 4 20:34:24 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=103, val=0, > arg_len=128]: Operation now in progress > Jun 4 20:34:24 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED > ret=-1 retry=1 > Jun 4 20:34:25 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=103, val=0, > arg_len=128]: Operation now in progress > Jun 4 20:34:25 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED > ret=-1 retry=1 > Jun 4 20:34:26 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=103, val=0, > arg_len=128]: Operation now in progress > Jun 4 20:34:26 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED > ret=-1 retry=1 > Jun 4 20:34:27 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=103, val=0, > arg_len=128]: Operation now in progress > Jun 4 20:34:27 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED > ret=-1 retry=1 > Jun 4 20:34:28 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: ioctl[SIOCS80211, op=103, val=0, > arg_len=128]: Operation now in progress > Jun 4 20:34:28 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED > ret=-1 retry=1 > Jun 4 20:34:29 pita kernel: iwm0: device timeout > Jun 4 20:34:29 pita kernel: iwm0: dumping device error log > Jun 4 20:34:29 pita kernel: iwm0: errlog not found, skipping > Jun 4 20:34:32 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Trying to associate with > bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc (SSID='LERCTR NETWORK 5' freq=5765 MHz) > Jun 4 20:34:32 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:34:42 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Authentication with > bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc timed out. > Jun 4 20:34:42 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc reason=3 locally_generated=1 > Jun 4 20:34:44 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Trying to associate with > f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 (SSID='LERCTR NETWORK 2.5' freq=2452 MHz) > Jun 4 20:34:44 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:34:55 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Authentication with > f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 timed out. > Jun 4 20:34:55 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 reason=3 locally_generated=1 > Jun 4 20:34:57 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Trying to associate with > 00:0e:8e:1f:43:17 (SSID='LERCTR GUEST' freq=2427 MHz) > Jun 4 20:34:57 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:35:07 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Authentication with > 00:0e:8e:1f:43:17 timed out. > Jun 4 20:35:07 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=00:0e:8e:1f:43:17 reason=3 locally_generated=1 > Jun 4 20:35:10 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Trying to associate with > bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc (SSID='LERCTR NETWORK 5' freq=5765 MHz) > Jun 4 20:35:10 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:35:20 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Authentication with > bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc timed out. > Jun 4 20:35:20 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=bc:ee:7b:6f:41:bc reason=3 locally_generated=1 > Jun 4 20:35:20 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: > CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED id=0 ssid="LERCTR NETWORK 5" auth_failures=1 > duration=10 reason=CONN_FAILED > Jun 4 20:35:22 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Trying to associate with > f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 (SSID='LERCTR NETWORK 2.5' freq=2452 MHz) > Jun 4 20:35:22 pita kernel: iwm0: iwm_update_edca: called > Jun 4 20:35:32 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: Authentication with > f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 timed out. > Jun 4 20:35:32 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-DISCONNECTED > bssid=f8:7b:8c:19:e1:22 reason=3 locally_generated=1 > Jun 4 20:35:32 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: > CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED id=1 ssid="LERCTR NETWORK 2.5" auth_failures=1 > duration=10 reason=CONN_FAILED > Jun 4 20:35:35 pita wpa_supplicant[375]: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SSID-REENABLED > id=0
WPA_SUPPLICANT, auth timeouts
When I'm sitting in my living room, the IWM (7160) card seems(!) to have issues connecting. As soon as I walk into the room with the AP, it connects right up and will then stay connected. Ideas? [Bug 203745] A2DP Support for Bluetooth Headphone Audio
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=203745 --- Comment #30 from Adrian Chadd --- I hacked on the negotiation bits after reading the spec. The spec mandates SBC, but the initial config fetch doesn't return SBC. It's returning some non-mandatory codec. I'm not sure if we have to ask it another way or not. I overrode some things, and it fails the set_configuration call, but the headset makes the "i'm ready!" noise.
