tenho um equipamento bi-processado em com HT habilitado.
No /var/run/dmesg.boot apareçe o seguinte:
# cat /var/run/dmesg.boot | grep cpu
cpu0 (BSP): apic id: 0, version: 0x00050014, at 0xfee0
cpu1 (AP): apic id: 1, version: 0x00050014, at 0xfee0
cpu2 (AP): apic id: 6,
Você habilitou o machdep.hyperthreading_allowed ?
Se não,acrescente no loader.conf a linha:
machdep.hyperthreading_allowed=1

Sim isso e' normal. Por questoes de seguranca o HyperThreading no
FreeBSD vem desabilitado por default, veja:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/CERT/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-05:09.htt.asc
Acrescente a seguinte linha no arquivo /boot/loader.conf:
machdep.hyperthreading_allowed=1
