[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18163] Cancelling city name request makes it impossible to do build city command anymore

2011-05-31 Thread Marko Lindqvist

Follow-up Comment #7, bug #18163 (project freeciv):

Your current fix is probably better for gtk3-client than any gtk-2.12
compatible one. Maybe we should postpone changing gtk2-code to 2.12
compatibility after gtk3-client has been branched.
That branching is still pending patch #2572, which has some problems, or was
it regression compared to old implementation (impossible to delete files or
something)

2011-05-31 Thread Jacob Nevins

Follow-up Comment #11, bug #17392 (project freeciv):

No-one's presented any evidence that it's happening with S2_3, although the
message can be generated by S2_3 code. (@akfaew: what version were you using
when you reported this back in December?)

(I'm guilty of causing some confusion here, with a report of a message that
can _only_ be generated by trunk code with the nationality patch. Disregard
comment #4 through comment #8.)

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #18174 (project freeciv):

 Release: 2.3.99plus-6.7
I don't recognise this version number (beyond it being trunk after S2_3
branched). What svn revision is that (or if you don't know, where did you get
a version of Freeciv so labelled?)

There have been several assertion failures a bit like this fixed relatively
recently.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16079] Update docs to reflect file name changes

2011-05-31 Thread Jacob Nevins

Follow-up Comment #4, bug #16079 (project freeciv):

Probably 'civmanual' should be changed as well?
This happened in patch #1756.

 Is '.civserver_history' still in use?
Yes, nobody has remembered its existence before now. But now
that you reminded about it, it will be soon renamed (in trunk).
This happened in patch #1820.

There are still references to civserver etc around. Plenty in doc/README for
instance (probably the whole of doc/ needs reviewing).

Rats, this'll be my fix for http://gna.org/bugs/?18163.
Clearly I wasn't careful enough about reading the documentation for
minimum versions; this turns out to require Gtk 2.14, sorry.
Will look into fixing as soon as I can, but feel free to fix sooner.

(BTW, there's another build failure on S2_3 due to uk.po, but rebuilding
gets round it. I haven't contacted Vadim about this yet.)

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #18163] Cancelling city name request makes it impossible to do build city command anymore

Update of bug #18163 (project freeciv):

  Status: Fixed = In Progress
 Open/Closed: Closed = Open

Follow-up Comment #6:

cazfi points out that this introduces a dependency on Gtk 2.14:

client/gui-gtk-2.0/inputdlg.c: In function ‘input_dialog_create’:
client/gui-gtk-2.0/inputdlg.c:81: error: implicit declaration of function
‘gtk_dialog_get_content_area’
client/gui-gtk-2.0/inputdlg.c:81: error: cast to pointer from integer of
different size
dpkg -s libgtk2.0-0
...
Version: 2.12.12-1~lenny2
...

According to the INSTALL file, our current minimum requirements are 2.6.0 on
S2_3, 2.12.0 on trunk. Re-opening to see if I can remove that dependency.
