 2- In civ3 you can't use railroads out of your national

Is localhost defined in your /etc/hosts, and to what address?

Follow-up Comment #12:

Updated patch against trunk. Removed change in fc_version as we don't know
the date we will apply it. Changed the check orders in
is_unit_reachable_at(). Removed references to magic values '0' and '1' in the
help text of the setting.

It doesn't work well. It makes stealth bombers able to attack stealth
fighters. Also they are units which have 0 hp, and some failed assertions...
Attached a savegame for testing.

I'd say that bug is not in Freeciv, but in the fact that /etc/hosts makes
localhost to resolve as ::1 even though IPv6 is disabled in the system.
It then depends on how you disabled IPv6 if bug is in openSUSE or in your own
actions (if openSUSE provides some tool or something for disabling IPv6 it
should take care of this localhost issue too)

Asked the same question myself years ago. IIRC the reply was that the
happiness bonus in fundamentalism enabled you to produce a virtually infinite
number of fanatics, allowing you to overwhelm any opponent that didn't also
