There's already a pending Lusitanian nation at patch #3329 (not yet committed

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #20946] Missing #include stdint.h

2013-07-09 Thread Jacob Nevins
Update of bug #20946 (project freeciv):

 Release: = 2.4.0-beta2
 Planned Release: = 2.4.0

___

Follow-up Comment #1:

It looks like as of patch #3606:
0 If building with autoconf 2.59 or older, we look in inttypes.h. From N1256
http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/WG14/www/docs/n1256.pdf it looks like
stdint.h would be more minimal, but The header inttypes.h includes the
header stdint.h and extends it with [...], so that should be OK.
0 If building with newer autoconf, we expect there to be AC_TYPE_INTPTR_T to
do the job for us.

I built the release tarball of 2.4.0-beta2 on Ubuntu 12.04, which is 2.68, so
I guess I get AC_TYPE_INTPTR_T.
It looks like the configure test will try to pull in both inttypes.h and
stdint.h; but there's no output from the 'configure' stage which tells our
source files which header (if any) to include to get intptr_t.
I imagine we can't just #include stdint.h because we'd like to support
platforms which don't have it (in which case 'configure' is likely to #define
intptr_t to its best guess at a suitable type).

Is the correct thing just to do

#ifdef HAVE_STDINT_H
#include stdint.h
#endif

in these source files?

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #20940 (project freeciv):

Have we got some big recursion or stack allocations in client goto?
We know Windows tends to run out of stack before Linux (see bug #17962 and
friends), so we might be chewing massive amounts of stack without most
developers noticing.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #20886] Fortresses can be used to take over territory within peaceful neighbour's city radius

Operating System:None = Any
 Planned Release: = 2.3.5,2.4.0,2.5.0,2.6.0

Follow-up Comment #1:

Attached lightly-tested patch which simply disallows building
territory-claiming bases in others' territory.

I haven't gone for checking diplomatic state, so even if you're at war with
someone (or indeed allied), you now can't build fortresses in their territory,
just the same as you can't build cities. Is that OK?

(For trunk only so far, haven't tried backporting it, but I think this should
go to stable branches too.)

My most powerful ally has a decrease of attitude toward me. I'd like to do
preventive action by lowering his cities sum of Food/Prod/Trade (ie: 2/1/1
for plain with infrastructure road/irrigation) ; that way if he eventually
decide to attack me, it will be less damaging. I read on
http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Terrain#Later_improvements [...] Fortresses
also extend national borders [...].

This doesn't function as far as I could tell. I first tried using the editor,
using the building adder tool, simply adding fortresses on the border (the
furthest I could toward the threat) then ending the turn but the border
remained the same. I then wondered if it was a problem with the editor and if
only normal addition of fortress triggered the border extension ; so I did
it using conventional means (without editor), the turn ending with
engineers-workers/settlers in the fortresses but the border remained the same.
I then wondered if only military units would extend the border so I sent some
in the fortresses then fortified them but the border was still the same as
even though of the scheme (threat territory reduction).

I'll still be able to go through the game as is but I will be at a
disadvantage of not having this non-war-aggression.
