I've been thinking about adapting the Wesnoth gaming ladder for
Freeciv-web, http://play.freeciv.org - to get ranked multiplayer games
and player statistics and tournaments. The Wesnoth Gaming ladder can be
found here: http://wesnoth.gamingladder.info/
It is a PHP web application, so it should be pretty easy to modify and run
on the Freeciv-web server. It would also show game playback, for example
with animated mapimg playbacks. I was thinking that after a Freeciv-web
multiplayer game has completed, the results would be automatically
reported to the gaming ladder. Support for regular Freeciv servers on the
metaserver could also be possible.
What do you think of this proposal? Do you have any further suggestions?
