Update of bug #15000 (project freeciv): Status:None = Ready For Test ___ Follow-up Comment #4: The attached patch adds wrapper functions for fopen(), gzopen(), opendir(), remove() and stat() and changes the already existing make_dir() wrapper function to convert the given file/directory names from Freeciv internal encoding (UTF-8) to system local encoding (e.g. CP1250) on Windows. I've also applied the patch to the 2.2.0-beta3 Windows installer packages that are available for download now. Follow-up Comment #1, bug #15000 (project freeciv): Confirmed for 2.2 beta on Czech Windows (and present since 2.1.9 at least). Why: Server saves to folder with utf-8 name treated as local Windows encoding, while (official) client recodes the string correctly. ok: C:\Documents and Settings\Lidka\Data aplikací\.freeciv\saves bad: C:\Documents and Settings\Lidka\Data aplikacĂ\.freeciv\saves If you look for all hidden things in your user profile folder(s), you can find the folder with bad name, which is where server saves these games.
