True. Hmm... I don't think unit properties can appear anywhere at the moment?
(it can't be a requirement for a city output, for which these are used).
Still, given the usual construction of "Library+Science+whatever req"
sometimes getting long even when individual reqs are just one word, maybe we
should make this even more concise: "Veterancy %d" (of course, if we could get
just the name of the veterancy level, that would be better in many ways)

Follow-up Comment #1, patch #6330 (project freeciv):

I deliberately made this string concise. As per the comment at the top of
universal_name_translation() (added in patch #5390):

'This should be short, as it's used in lists like "Aqueduct+Size 8" when
explaining a calculated value. It just needs to be enough to remind the player
of rules they already know, not a complete explanation (use
insert_requirement() for that).'
