Could you copy the content of the bug to the new tracker - I (and
perhaps more of the people who would look at the code) do not have a
passwort for the old bug tracker ...

Now that we are creating gtk3-client which must use cairo for drawing,
we need some starting point. If this patch is easy to port to current
to-be-gtk3-client codebase, it probably should go in there. Even if
its problems with some hardware were never resolved, it's better than
having no cairo code at all. Besides time may have fixed those
problems (if it was bug in year 2006 hardware or drivers)
