When launching Freeciv in a multiple monitor environment the window
placement is not handled correctly. My setup is as follows: Primary
monitor 1920x1200 on the right, secondary monitor 1280x1024 on the left,
aligned to the bottom of the primary monitor (so that pixel 1024 on the left
hand monitor is even with pixel 1200 on the right hand monitor). This
leaves a rectangular gap of 1280x176 pixels in the top left corner of my
full screen real estate. Most programs defer to windows for placement and
thus open in the primary monitor, but Freeciv does not and opens with the
title bar outside of the visible screen area. In order to move the window
so that the title bar is visible I must expand the window (by dragging the
right hand edge of the window) over to the primary monitor so that part of
the title bar is visible. This occurs every time the application is
launched, not just on the initial launch.

I'm sure this would not happen if my primary monitor were on the left, if my
primary and secondary monitors were the same resolution or if the secondary
monitor was logically aligned with the top of the primary monitor, but such
are the requirements of my workspace.

Pertinent details:

Freeciv 2.1.2 Stable Release (from pre-built Windows binary download)

Windows Vista Ultimate, fully patched as of 1/20/08

AMD Athlon64 3500+

2GB System RAM

Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT 256MB

Acer AL2416W 24" LCD (Primary)

Samsung SyncMaster 710N 17" LCD (Secondary)
