Follow-up Comment #1, bug #16480 (project freeciv):

With the help checkbox activated, choosing a tech from the research dropdown
will display the help system entry for this tech instead of making it the
research target.

Please try this and let us know if it works.

in the research window the help button (view screenshot) seems to do
nothing.
if this is true, it should be removed
