[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16528] messages tab 'tears off'

2010-08-30 Thread Karl Goetz

Follow-up Comment #7, bug #16528 (project freeciv):

I'm ok with hard coding, as long as its some sort of logical order. eg,
f1-f12 tabs appear in the order f1-12 :)

But it /wont/ go back to the original location if its not the
 last window in the list.

That's true. Also, if you tear off and put back things like the overview map,
they can end up in odd places. It bugs me too, but I thought I was just being
a bit OCD

I suppose it might not be that hard to hard-code the tab order (etc) and
always put each tab back in its rightful place. Would anyone mind the tab
order being hard-coded?

Follow-up Comment #3, bug #16528 (project freeciv):

@ Jacob

But it /wont/ go back to the original location if its not the last window in
the list.

for example, have map+chat+messages.
press f1-f6

cause the tab to tear off (however it happens)

messages now goes to the end of the list, not between chat and f1

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #16528] messages tab 'tears off'

2010-08-26 Thread Jacob Nevins

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #16528 (project freeciv):

Many reports in the Gtk client tear off into separate popup windows when
you double-click on their titles. You can restore them to their original
position by closing this window.

Whole areas such as the message/chat area can be torn off with the vertical
handles on their sides. The menus can tear off, too.

There's a fair amount of code making all this happen, so it's presumably by
design.
