Follow-up Comment #2, bug #17808 (project freeciv):

"-d 3" revealed what happened. Client considered all the savegames (autosaves
for each turn of several games with different savenames) in current directory
to be scenarios and it's reading registry of each save. That takes forever -
until ping timeout makes server to cut connection.

S2_3 seems to be affected also.

I checked with second client that server is running, and client has already
connected it. So the problem is probably in bringing up scenario list.

Details:

When I click "Start Scenario Game" in current TRUNK from client main menu,
client usually just hangs there and must be forced to shutdown. At one attempt
I got "Starting server" message appearing, but hang was same as always.
Problem cannot be in server forking per se, as "Start New Game" works.
