FWIW we got permission from the author, Lirion, to use that vector image of
the Interfrisian Council version under GNU GPL. I normalized the dimensions
for use in Freeciv and attach it here. It actually looks pretty decent (and
unique) in game.

Maybe it looks more trve(tm), but it was just a rejected proposal by a
minority even within a minority. Depending on where you go, you'll find each
of the three separate flags omnipresent in their respective regions, the East
Frisian one

hmmm, I'm not too sure. Although it's true that the current flag is only the
flag of the modern Friesland/Fryslân province, it is based on old Frisian
symbolism. Blue and white have been the Frisian colors since the Middle Ages
and the Water
