Follow-up Comment #11, bug #25257 (project freeciv):

OK, I investigated further and it works ok on start when arrange widgets for
display is unset ( only on start).

When its set then extra warning is printed:
(freeciv-gtk3.22:13621): Gtk-WARNING **: Negative content width -1 (allocation
1, extents 1x1) while allocating gadget (node notebook, owner GtkNotebook)

so it must be to notebook related.

I checked and it seems amp resizes over 10 times on start to sizes:

and only 1628,942 is correct.
Im using xfwm4 window manager and I think its the same as with themes - it
will work only under gnome window manager.

I attached patch, it works for me, but maybe it might do 
recursive resize, idk.
For me gtk3.22 never takes full window, even after 10th resizing by user.

It happens when parts of the windowmanager window (title bar etc) 
is outside of the screen (desktop area)

Is this both gkt3- and gtk3.22-clients? What is version of gtk+?

I see such problems only with gtk+ master (gtk4 development version) and my
local client version modified to compile against those gtk4 libraries.

Doesn't happen if the windows is maximized in the pre game dialog. Maybe the
problem is that the map's size isn't updated?
