We're planning a 2.5.7 release soon, possibly as soon as next weekend (6-7 May). The main aim of this release is to replace URLs and email addresses in the tarball to reflect the gna.org closure. There are some bugfixes since 2.5.6, but frankly not that many. Work-in-progress NEWS is at <http://www.freeciv.org/wiki/NEWS-2.5.7>. If gna.org shuts down before we get the release out (I haven't managed to get any timeline out of the Gna people), the release will almost certainly be delayed, as we'll need to get the new code repository in place (I'm still working on this) and update our release procedures. Translators: there has been a single string change on S2_5, breaking the longstanding S2_5 string freeze, since @gna.org was mentioned in a translatable string.
