I'll have to investigate this. It works for me in Chrome 27 on Windows 8.
It would be very useful with more details about how to reproduce the
issues. Perhaps it is related to some plugin, eg. Ghostery. It could
also be that they were connecting when the server load was very high.

During the past week 105679 people visited play.freeciv.org,
so a few bugreports is to be expected.  :)


Also, HTML5 WebSockets doesn't work when connecting though a HTTP
proxy. This could be a issue for some people with proxies.
