I recall using it when it was qedit, and in version 2, when rewritten to C, the speed increase was noticeable. Good times!

I do not think it will be that easy. It is probably hitting the 16 unsigned int
range, and also accounting that large memory model only allows to allocate
blocks of up to 64K (you are looking for huge).

Following your details, I can confirm it is UPXed. I have unpacked it, and
increased from 8264 bytes up to 17424 bytes.
Then I examined the headers, and according to the signatures (Portions
Copyright (c) 1983,92 Borland) it should be Turbo/Borland Pascal 7 compiled.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Bart.

I am sure Jiri will be interested in those DOS library enhancements:

As for the fork, I see an additional problem, that will be outdated since it
will not contain latest fixed by Jiri.

It is a complex task, to be honest.
Why not focus in finishing Coreutils or FreeDOS TUI?

I have release a simple reboot.com tool for DOS, performing a DOS warm boot.
It is available in source and binary forms at:

Of course it is not as complete as fdapm, but should be interesting for some.
