This applies to FreeDOS in general. However, FreeDOS works for me on all
PCs I have available here in the family or in the office. Some have Windows 
7or 8
installed and I still can boot and run FreeDOS from a CD.

There are far more applications available using GTK than FLTK. But I could 
port several
FLTK applications from Linux to DOS using DJGPP. DJGPP/CWSDPMI make 4 GB
memory available so this in no problem when using DOS. However, some Linux 
applications
depend on Cairo, OpenGL, GTK, QT, Ruby, CMake etc. and these cannot be 
ported without
having unlimited time available.

Most applications that I wrote using FLTK will run on Linux, Windows/MinGW 
and DOS.

I think making an Xlib compatible library and FLTK available for FreeDOS is 
an important
addition. Developers can make cross-platform applications and thus get a 
greater user base.
