FreeDOS 0.9 does work on a 8086 (Amstrad PC1512), however it's crippled 
compared to MS/PC/DR DOS, because freecom
cannot be reloaded from disk to free conventional memory for programs.

Most drivers are not needed or useful on a 8086 anyway.
