I played a bit with Qemu, althought I didn't got networking running (I did not
even tried, as I have a real PC for that). FreeDOS itself is working okay,
but it's realy slw... I couldn't play Doom on a P4 3 GHz!
I would recomend to use DOSemu instead, which is much faster :-)

Then you probably missed the QEMU Accelerator Kernel Module (KQEMU).

Indeed, I never figured out how to compile it and make it working with my
Linux box, so I sticked with the Qemu version I got out of the box. :-)

2007-09-26 Thread usul
Checkout QEMU Manager
GUI + QEMU + Accelerator.

http://www.davereyn.co.uk/about.htm

It installs and runs perfectly. But to be honest I have forgotten alot
about dos.

So I am having problems setting it up.

The reason I wanted to use FreeDos as I wanted to program on it,
for it. etc.

I am having problems installing FreeDos to USB so I thought this would
work almost just as well.

thanks,
usul

Well, this is a program for Win32... In Win32 it's not a problem to install
QEMU and Qemu accelerator :-P
I use Linux - that's why I had problems with it.

2007-09-26 Thread Alain M.
I use it regularly, it works just fine. The networking problem is that
you have to find the appropriate driver for the virtual NIC. Probably
www.netbootdisk.com will help, it also installs a MS client
