Eric, Thanks. I got the SCSI drivers to load now, and the CD-ROM is visible. Unfortunately I get hangs trying to run the installer program (TEXTINST). Also, I would really like to read the content of the various TXT files on the CD (such as INSTALL.TXT) but there is no "MORE" command on the flopp

Hi, if there is a fdconfig, sys file, FreeDOS ignores config, sys ... so please try editing fdconfig, sys instead. In addition, DEVLOAD is indeed a very limited kludge to load device drivers. Whenever possible, use DEVICE (or DEVICEHIGH) instead. Use DEVICEHIGH only if your UMBs are compatible with t

I tried out the ODIN 0.6 single-disk install. Generally, I like it. Less experienced users might have trouble getting a working system out of it as it provides no config files or help system. I added the Help system and a directory called FOR_HD in which I place FDCONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT fi

I tried using FreeDOS to create a bootable CD. It worked well. For my purpose, though, I also want to create a RAM drive so that the application has somewhere to write temporary files. TDSK.EXE works well, but I know that which drive letter will be assigned to the RAM disk depends on the number
