Booted from the beta9rc5 disk image, trying to format a hard drive using FAT32. fdisk has no problems deleting old linux and NT partitions and creating a new single partition spanning the entire 40 gB drive, but format seems rather broken--it just hangs at zero percent when doing a 'format c: /u'

No, but you selected /U which means wiping the entire 40 GB and
doing a surface scan for it! This can take very long, and FORMAT
is not optimized for that. I recommend that you use
FORMAT C: /Q /U

creative 52x cd5233e.
i used a boot floppy because my pc doesn't boot from cdrom.
the result is: error on access to the cdrom, nothing installed and the cdrom

Hi, try loading SHARE, for file sharing and locking:

or use an older version. Try with FAT16 if FAT32 is a problem. Do not forget
to try loading network / ... drivers low, loading them into UMB can give
