My BOOT DOS USB stick was created using Rufus and the usb full image of RC5 and 
created on the Windows 10 platform. Initially I had problems trying to create 
the disk - but it turned out that because of me "folder protecting (windows)" 
all drives - windows would not let me Rufus the stick. Simply by (temporarily) 
" un folder protect the USB drive", I successfully created my USB BOOT via the 
USB full RC5 image from your site.

I do not know about the CD version.

So I am always booting off the USB stick and it is partitioned with C:\,  D:\ 
and E:\ drives. The C:\ drive is ~ 512 MB and with all the "full FreeDOS 
stuff", it left me with about 70 MB. Tons of free space on D:\ and E:\ with my 
16 GB USB stick. Note that I do not install FreeDOS on the hard drive (which 
has Windows 10).

Using only the USB stick (not an additional CD drive) works fine with me.


Just a side note,  I always ensure that if I want another USB stick at the same 
time (eg data files) - that the additional USB sticks are "plugged in" BEFORE 
freedos booting up. Also I had some issues in which of the 4 USB ports on my 
laptop the BOOT stick is plugged in (if I had two or more USB sticks plugged 
in). On my laptop, only two ports are USB 3, the other two are USB 2. Only one 
of the USB 2 ports can handle a USB 1 device. So watch out on the USB "speed" 
of the BOOT disk itself - may need to trial and error which stick goes where 
(if more than one used).

Note my laptop has a "Legacy mode" and if I wanted to, could also have the CSM 
(?) mode for DOS boot up.
