Re: [Freedos-user] Want to read FreeDOS mails in a sensible order
With Thunderbird, you can also have it sort email by threads, which is how I have it set for this mailing list another mailing list. Jim Hall wrote: BA HCL wrote: Hello, It is painful to read mails in random order! Can the mails be sent according to GMT order? Is there a way to recieve threaded mails from the lists I subscribed? And can I select not to receive mail at all, but the mailing lists still accessible? Perhaps there are ways to do it but I don't know, enlighten me please. Unfortunately, there isn't a way that I can see in the SF mail list manager (Mailman) to re-encode all date/time as GMT. However, I also can't recall ever reading email messages on the list out of order due to dates. Maybe that's because Thunderbird happens to sort them, or maybe it's because I never noticed. I don't know. -jh ___ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
[Freedos-user] check for format
Is there a tool that can check to see if a hard drive has been formatted or not. I know the beta 8 installer had a whichfat, but it could only detect fat16, not fat32 or ntfs. Does the latest version look for the others, or is just fat 16 still? --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Re: [Freedos-user] Descent runs fine, but the Descent installer doesn't
I had the same problem half a year ago or more before emm386 was fixed up to work with Descent. I haven't tried installing it since, but I had to install it then through Win ME. However, when I try to install Descent (from the CD) under Freedos, the installer gives me this error message: Error: install must be run from floppy diskette or CD-ROM. -- Tim Carlsen --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588alloc_id=12065op=click ___ Freedos-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
[Freedos-user] progress bar
Hi, somewhere I remember reading about a progress bar program puts a bar at the bottom of the screen and gets updated everytime the program gets ran. That's all the program did was create a progress bar that could be used especially in batch files. I was wondering if someone knows where I could find this because I could use this for a little project I'm working on. --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies. Yea, slowdown does work, so I can now drop the mo'slow. Running Descent 1 with slowdown works great, running at 486 100mhz. At 08:36 PM 03/14/2004, you wrote: Hi, good point, after upgrading 133 - 500 MHz it already runs a bit too fast here, too. Let me know when you found a way :-). Eric. Someone had suggested using a program called slowdown, but it just came up with the error: SLOWDOWN 3.10, (C) 1993-2002, Bret Johnson. It ran great without any problems. The way I use it is in the descent.bat file, moslo /20 descentr.exe %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9. I have a 1.8 ghz computer, so I first tried /25 which was close, but at /20 it ran the right speed. With moslo, you have to tell it at what percentage you want the cpu to run at, which means approx. 360 mhz. I remember that Descent 1 ran sort of slow for a 133 so I tried 20%. You'll just have to play around with the % to get the right number.
