Re: [Freedos-user] FreeDOS and MPlayer

The hxrtd.zip file mentioned above also seems to have something wrong
with it, the 'ole32.dll' file has a file size of 0 bytes!

Thanks for the hint! It has been fixed. However, this file isn't relevant for
mplayer AFAICS.

I tried it too again with those files, but get lots of errors with any
 video file, such as

 Option_mv0_threshold needs a parameter at line 1
Option possibly needs a parameter at line 2

That's bad luck. mplayer works with hx more or less unintentionally -
obviously with some codecs and/or binaries only.

  Hi!

What version of MPlayer is the most willing to go on DOS?

 I downloaded

 http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer/builds/mplayer-p4-svn-22870.7z

 from

 http://oss.netfarm.it/mplayer-win32.php

 which worked (on a P4).

Which DLL's have I to steal from Windows?

 It's opengl32.dll and glu32.dll (from win9x or winme)

 To launch it I entered:

 dpmild32 -g mplayer -vo gl -ao win32 file.mpg xxx

 Additional:

 - a SB16 compatible sound card is required for sound
 - one might have to patch opengl32.dll, see hx\unsupp\patchogl.txt.

The patch is no longer necessary with the files found at
http://www.japheth.de/Download/hxrtd.zip, but these files are unstable.

[Freedos-user] FreeDOS and MPlayer

2007-04-20 Thread Mateusz Viste
Hi!

I hear here and there that some people are launching the Win version of
MPlayer under FreeDOS. That's pretty interesting, unfortunately, after many
tries I am still unable to run MPlayer that way :(
Maybe someone could explain me, step by step, how to proceed? What version of
MPlayer is the most willing to go on DOS? Which DLL's have I to steal from
Windows?Japhet's HX tool seems to be pretty easy to use, so I suspect that I
am doing something wrong with the MPlayer itself...

For example, I got recently the following errors:
dpmild32: import not found: ChooseFontA
dpmild32: file COMDLG32.DLL
dpmild32: COMDLG32.DLL: cannot resovle import.

Best regards,
Fox
