Re: [Freedos-user] Sad messages from ArachneDevelopment

2008-12-07 Thread Eric Auer

Hi Uli,

 Is anybody reading this?

 http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ArachneDevelopment/message/4093

Trying to summarize... Somebody complains that too
many features (eg archivers) are in Arachne now,
somebody writes about some problems with a server,
and at the bottom of the page, somebody says that
several key developers of Arachne are unavailable
or gone, making it likely that there will be no
future Arachne versions any more...? Is that what
you wanted to say by pasting that URL? Is it some
digest of a mailing list, forum or IRC channel?

Well it would be nice if Arachne development would
go on, obviously, so maybe somebody who is reading
this here wants to help out or suggest things? As
far as I remember, there are also spin-off versions
with Java Script, CSS or compiled for 32bit DPMI?

Please comment and explain :-)

Eric

You seem to have missed this post from Glenn McCorkle himself:

It has been my plan for quite some time now that v1.95 would be my last.
I have simply been putting-off making the 'official announcement'.

I have spent eight years now working on Arachne development.
It is now time for me to move on.
