Eric: In your initial report, you say that TDSK fails as soon as you have 512 MB RAM - however, your DEVICEHIGH line always selects a TDSK size of 8 MB, so...? Maybe some other problem? Cannot see a 512 MB RAM-exist-limit there, only a (for normal sector size) 32 MB ramdisk-size limit...?

Thanks for the fast replies all of you, really appreciate it! However, as Eric said, configuring the laptop with freedos would probably hard compared to installing windows 95 or whatever on it. According to the wiki (the howto regarding networking) there are no wifi drivers avaible to dos.

Hi Samuel: There is a hardware solution the gaming folks use to connect a wired computer to a wireless network without requiring any wireless drivers. These aren't cheap, but they work. As an example, the Netgear ME101:
