disk space that would be leftover that I could keep Windows

Does anyone have any advice about getting FreeDOS to boot on an HP desktop? I
get a message about "Init..." and then nothing happens. I've been trying to
get this to work for a two or three months but I haven't had a chance to fool

No floppy, I tried CD (booting SpinRite) testing a disk drive for bad spots.
The CD/SpinRite does boot on a Dell laptop & desktop.

Well, I'm not sure what BIOS settings are appropriate beyond booting from the
CD/DVD. I'll look at the settings tomorrow night.

I’m going to try and dual boot Windows7 & FreeDOS, I’m not sure which order to
do after I shrink the C drive (create a partition visible to both Win7 &
FreeDOS?)
- install FreeDOS to target partition
- install GAG

I used Tck & Tk along BLT (not Bell Lab Tech) to automate the generation of X-Y
plots from CSV files generated by legacy Unix FOTRAN code, it also ran on Win97
boxes (~15 years ago). Really great stuff.
