Nice guide, and nice description as well.

I think FDAPM could help a lot, both in normal energy reduction but also 
setting the SPEEDn part

PCISLEEP possibly as well.

If you can convince Eric Auer to rather code instead of talking, maybe 
EDIT can be patched to get 'FDAPM-aware' as people have called it 
recently on this list :)
