Re: [Freedos-user] Network adapter
Most new chips run Network just fine if you use www.netbootdisk.com, including on-board in brand new MB I have one of the genuini chip of the fake 8139, it is from SILEN. The driver is buggy, both packet driver and ndis2 :( Alain Marcos Favero Florence de Barros escreveu: > Hi Buzzer, > >> Could anyone advice me best network adapter which are able to >> work under FreeDOS? > > I installed RTL-8139 network adapters on four FreeDOS computers > to run a DataPerfect database, and they have been faultlessly > working 12 hours every day for over a year now. I have at least six 8139 cards from a couple vendors. The driver not only works with those but has worked with several later 8xxx chips on motherboards. I expect it to work as well with DOS, assuming this particular driver does work. I found its device driver here: http://www.georgpotthast.de/sioux/packet.htm No news about the first one, sorry :) I hope you'll find my link useful ;) Cheers, Fabio -- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev ___ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
