Using this command I converted it to DER
openssl x509 -outform der -in /etc/ipa/ca.crt -out /etc/ipa/ca.der
But the import gives the exact same error message

RHEL is indeed available for Power 8 and Power 9.
But FreeIPA server is not, only the clients / sssd :-(
