If this is not a super-stable-production system, can you try test
packages for 6.3? There's been a number of fixes for the native ipa
netgroups in 6.4..

unfortunately it is.

OK..I couldn't reproduce the problem myself with git head, but I've asked
one of my colleagues to try and reproduce with 6.3.

In the meantime, I have seen that creating pure netgroups instead of
hostgroups works around this problem.

could you please provide more logs? I tried to set up same environment, with sssd-1.8.0-32.el6.x86_64, and everything works fine, so you might be hitting some race condition.
