Well its a shame that development has ceased but I guess you guys
aren't seeing the customer demand you had anticipated when you bought

Things are complicated... I can't say more than that. One needs to learn
to walk before he can run.

I think it would be good if you at least updated those
fedorahosted.org pages with the current state of things.

I will see what I can do.

Perhaps their is someone out there that might want to contribute or
even just for curious onlookers like myself.

Until very recently there was no interest at all...

I was able to track down these binary releases. Are these the latest
 versions?

 Penrose 2.0 -

 Velo 1.4 - http://sourceforge.net/projects/velo/

Yes.

 Hi,

I was wondering if somebody could shed some light on what's going on
with Penrose and Velo. I see cursory mentions of it here and there in
some RedHat documentation or on Bugzilla, but judging from the Fedora
Hosted pages the products seem to be abandoned:
 https://fedorahosted.org/penrose/ and https://fedorahosted.org/velo/

Both products are on a life support just not to die until we need them
 in the future.
There are some ideas about how they can be useful in conjunction with
IPA but they are a much lower level priority than letting IPA v2 out of
 the door.

The technologies seem very interesting and complimentary to FreeIPA,
but the information out there is outdated at best. Is development
 still being done?

No development is done at the moment.

Is there an active mainling list?

You are talking on the right list to change anything about the current
 situation.

Where can I download the latest versions? Is there a rough
 roadmap/plan?

I think I can dig you the pointer to the source code if you are
 interested.
As for the plan... Let us release IPA v2 first. Penrose will be very
handy in some use cases but we just do not have resources to invest into
 this project at the moment.
Velo is user provisioning. The demand for it in conjunction with IPA is
yet another thing that we would to address in couple years when this
 demand actually materializes.

But if you have any ideas or suggestions we can definitely discuss them
 here.
