Re: [Freeipmi-devel] ipmi_cmd_get_system_guid() ?
Hi Rob, It looks like none of the tools use it by default. Bmc-info uses the Get Device GUID command instead of Get System GUID. I suppose they can return different information, so perhaps bmc-info should do both. I can add it if you're interested in it. Is there an included command utility which uses this function (and displays the returned system GUID)? Re: [Freeipmi-devel] ipmi_cmd_get_system_guid() ?
Yes, we are interested. The Device (BMC) GUID and the system GUID *should* be different from my understanding. Some implementations may support one command/GUID but not the other. Re: [Freeipmi-devel] ipmi_cmd_get_system_guid() ?
Hey Rob, I've committed a fix into the SVN trunk. I changed the output of bmc-info to prefix Device GUID vs System GUID, so I'd like to release with a major release instead of backporting to 1.3.X. I hope that's ok for your testing. Al On Thu, 2013-12-12 at 20:39 +, Rob Swindell wrote: Yes, we are interested. The Device (BMC) GUID and the system GUID *should* be different from my understanding.
