You actually should not need to do any transformation, just render the
sig map directly in tksurfer, ie,
tksurfer fsaverage lh inflated -overlay sig-lh.bhdr
fsaverage is the
DOSS will not remove the mean difference, it just allows you to fit a
continuous variable such as age with one regressor. If you have no
continuous variables, you'll get the same answer with DOSS and DODS. The
differences in significanes that you are seeing could be due to a
