Greetings from St. Louis. I recently installed Freesurfer version 4.5
on my Windows XP OS PC after attending your training course held at our
institution, Washington University. The install went fine, and I was
able to make it through all the checks in your setup and installation

Hi Freesurfers,
I heard about tools for segmenting wm hypotensities from multi-spectral
data. We have various sequences (T1, T2 and Flair) from a group of
patients and controls and would be interested in looking at
hypointensities. So I was wondering if these tools are accessible
somewhere.
Hello Freesurfers,
I am in the process of unpacking scan data, but am having problems
with the spmregister-sess command. I ran recon-all and preproc-sess
to completion without error. However, when I run spmregister-sess -s

Hi Philip,
what version were you running? I think Martin Reuter fixed this bug.

Hi Adam, I don't know why you are receiving this now. Your startup.m
file is not properly configured, so I'm surprised it ever ran correctly
for you at all.
Try adding this line at the end of it
path(path,'/usr/pubsw/common/spm/spm5');

Hi everyone,
We are currently running version 4.2 and will be updating to version 4.5. I
have about 60 brains that went through reconstruction with 4.2 and was
wondering if the reconstructions/data will be affected at all by updating to
4.5? Will I need to re-run part of recon-all in order to use
Hi Jesse,
we always recommend reprocessing your data after an upgrade. We try very
hard to retain any manual interventions you may have taken, so it should
just be compute time. Sorry :

you should also be aware that we are close to releasing version 5, so
you might want to wait to do your re-analysis

Thank you for the quick reply, as always. In that case I may have to stick
with version 4.2 for these analyses as this is my dissertation data. I'll
definitely upgrade when 5.0 comes out and then recon-all of my data.
Take care,
Jesse

Hi Freesurfer experts,
Thanks for Jesse's recent posting which raises my question. I am in
the process of compiling a series of control patients with freesurfer
version 4.5. Is it possible to save the output after autorecon1( with
version 4.5), and use it to continue autorecon2 when
I am having a problem others have had before, but that I can't seem to see
any resolution to in the archives. When I open tksurfer I can't use my
keyboard to input anything. I don't get any errors, it just doesn't let me
type or delete anything, making it next to impossible to use.
I'm running
Hi Katie,
do you see any errors in the window that you typed the tksurfer command?

Hi Toh,

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a list xyz coordinates for all 70 regions
generated in the cortical parcellation atlas.
Thanks for your help,

If you run mri_annotation2label, you can create a .label file for each
region. This label file will have a list of xyz of each vertex.
