I have a somewhat strange question and hopefully someone can help me out.
I have a few hundred subjects that have all been run through recon-all, and
have gone through some QA. In some of the cases control points have been
added or brain masks have been modified etc, and recon-all has been
looking into it too much): does:
mris_info rh.pial
give you the info you need? what i'm not sure of is whether everything
you see in that output is available in the structure that the matlab
surface reader loads.

Hi all,
I'm not sure where the best place to make this request is. so I thought I'll
put this here.
I often use freesurfer generated surfaces and images in other software
packages (Slicer, Matlab etc) for various things. The MGZ files include the
origin in the file headers, meaning that
Hi Leonardo,
I am interested in doing something very similar, in addition to
combining the left and white white matter surfaces I want to remove the
surfaces for the deep brain nuclei. I haven't really started this
project so I'm not sure how it will turn out but one of the things i am

Hi Luke,
mri_mc is newer and more flexible, and also implements marching cubes.
You don't need to extract any labels from the volume, as mri_mc
explicitly takes a label to cover the surface of (e.g. 2 or 41).

Hello,
I'm new to freeSurfer and just starting to look around so I apologize if
this question is a bit naive.
When I look at segmentation results, that include deep brain nuclei
(thalamus etc) I see that they are all contained inside of the white
matter surface. is there away to edit the

Hi Allison,
Sorry if i was unclear, what i'm interested in is the WM. As you say
the current WM surface provides good information in separating the WM
from the Gm, I would also like to have a surface which separates the

such a tool already exists in FS.
Thanks,

Hi Luke,
you could, but perhaps it would be easier if you explained what your
bigger goal is?

Hi Bruce,
Basically what i would like to do is to generate a surface for the
cerebral Wm. additionally I would like to label each vertex based on
the anatomy on the other side
