Hi Doug,
I tried what you suggested but don't think sure I've got it right.
I'm trying to extract thickness for gyri and sulci separately in labels that I
have created and saved as an annotation.
I began by using mri_surf2surf to convert the thickness and sulc files to mgh -
no errors, although

There are a couple things that could be wrong. Make sure that
calculating an identity registration is the proper thing to be doing
here. Doug can probably tell you more about this. Next, is the file
actually loading? Make sure that the output to the shell doesn't have
any errors, and that there's
hmmm, that should work. Did you try doing configure-overlay and changing
the thresholds? Did you get any error messages? You can also load it via
file-load curvature and you'll get it in red/green. You can then change
the mid point in the view-configure-curvature window

Another method is to use mri_surf2surf to to convert the curv file into an
mgh file (run it with --help to see how to use it). Then just load the mgh
file as an overlay (with compute identity).
